Με σκουφάκι και σορτσάκι που είχαν τον αριθμό 77 ο Ντέιβιντ Μπέκαμ έκανε την πρώτη του προπόνηση με την Τότεναμ, αν και ακόμη δεν έχει αποκτηθεί από τους "σπερς".

Είναι πολύ πιθανό πάντως ο Μπέκαμ να μην παίξει ποτέ στην ομάδα του Λονδίνου, καθώς είναι αρκετά δύσκολο να δώσουν το ΟΚ οι Los Angeles Galaxy.

Αν δεν γίνει αυτό, τότε απλά θα προπονείται με την ομάδα μέχρι τις 10 Φεβρουαρίου, για να επιστρέψει εν συνεχεία στις ΗΠΑ για την προετοιμασία εν όψει της νέας σεζόν.

"Είναι ωραίο που τον έχουμε εδώ. Δουλέψαμε σκληρά για να έρθει και ελπίζουμε πως θα καταφέρει να παίξει", τόνισε ο τεχνικός της Τότεναμ, Χάρι Ρέντναπ.

"Προσπαθήσαμε πολύ για να φτάσουμε σε συμφωνία και να παίξει σε μας. Είναι όμως μπερδεμένα τα πράγματα, αλλά ποτέ δεν ξέρεις. Θα δούμε πως θα πάνε τα πράγματα".

"Το θέμα είναι τι θα αποφασίσουν οι Αμερικανοί. Ο Ντέιβιντ δείχνει να είναι σε εξαιρετική κατάσταση, προσέχει τον εαυτό του, είναι υπόδειγμα επαγγελματία".
