SCHOOLS WHACKO FOR JACKO

School bosses in China have given up on traditional martial arts exercises to let their pupils stage bizarre mass performances of Michael Jackson dance routines.

More than 700 students assemble in the playgrounds at Duping primary school in Chongqing, south west China every day for the body-popping performances.

Their favourite robotic routine - from the video of his hit Dangerous - is believed to have been inspired by internet footage of prisoners in the Philippines performing Jacko's Thriller dance.

Headmaster Wan Lu, 36, explained: "We used to practice tai chi but the students said they wanted to do something more modern.

"This is fun and it is also very good exercise for them. They have other routines but this one is their favourite."

WEB OF CRIME

A man who murdered his pregnant wife and then showed his parents her body on a webcam was arrested just minutes before he planned to kill her sister too.

Romanian Dorel Marcu, 21, now being quizzed by police in Madrid, Spain, throttled wife Viorela with a tie after a violent row where she told him he was not the father of the child she was bearing.

The building site worker then sent webcam pictures of her lifeless body to his father and then an email claiming: "Father she said she was pregnant and that the child is not mine. She also put naked pictures of herself on internet."

His father - also called Dorel - immediately contacted local police in Copsa Mica, Sibiu, Romania, who called Spanish police who arrived just 20 minutes before Viorela's sister was due to return home from work.

"He told us he was waiting at the flat because he intended to kill her sister too before escaping back to Romania. We got there just in time thanks to his parents," said one officer.

BOOK HIM, OFFICER

Baffled football stars have told how they were pulled over by a police car with sirens blaring - so they could sign autographs for a besotted WPC.

German Bundesliga side Hamburger SV were in the team coach on the way to a match when they were forced off the motorway by traffic cops.

But instead of a ticket, all they got was a demand from a blonde female officer for hunky star striker Mladen Petric's autograph.

"All the other players were smiling. I thought they were taking the p**s, so I didnt move at first.

"Eventually I realized they really wanted me to got to the front. When I got there a young police woman told me she was a big fan of mine, got out her autograph book and asked for my autograph," said Petric.

The bizarre demand emerged when the club Tweeted the encounter with a picture after the match.

"Our team bus stopped by the police because cop wanted an autograph," they said on Twitter.
